excitement
so i think i mentioned in my last blog that we are house hunting. well we had put an offer on one house and we did not get it. but shortly after that we found a place that was much more affordable and had a fenced yard (a huge plus when you have a dog and a child). and on top of that i could do renos and make it our own! so we made an offer and we got it! everything seems to be working out like planned. i have alot of planning and budgeting to do, and we are going to have alot of work to do in the month of sept. we have a month to get our renovations done, so if anyone wants to help, we will not refuse!

and this is our yard. no it does not have any grass which is too bad, but there is an open grassy area on the other side of the gate

just a few details, it is a townhouse (an end unit, yeah!), 3 floors, 3 bedrooms and bathroom on the third floor, living area on the second floor, and a rec room and single car garage on the first floor. it is on Immel close to the 7-11, a little further east than we wanted to move, but we really liked the place. it is a family oriented townhouse, which is good and bad (hopefully the good will outweigh the bad). and there is a play structure and a basketball hoop.
sorrow
a young man in our community lost his life in a tragic car crash the same day we made an offer on our house. he is actually a second cousin to adrian, though we did not have the pleasure of knowing him. though we know his wife (not well) and have many close friends who are very close with her. they were married for a short time, but i hear they had a wonderful life together, filled with much love. it's times like these that make me cling to the people i love the most, adrian and landen, and makes my heart break for someone who no longer can.
it's hard to understand why things like this happen. why would God take a man so young in his life that was so devoted to him? was his time on earth really supposed to be over already? had he accomplished everything here on earth that was meant for him? it's hard to imagine the answer to any of these questions being yes. though i see how many people were effected when they recieved the news, and hear stories of what a great man he was. though his life may have seemed short to us, he obviously had touched many peoples lives in a positive way.
our hearts go out to his family and friends, during this hard time, but also in the years to come as there will always be an empty space. i hope peace can be found in the honorable life that he lead and the understanding that he is in a better place. and my heart still aches for rosanna, and the void she must be feeling right now. but thankful that God saved her and has a plan for her life, and that one day she will be reunited with her beloved.
excitement and exhaustion?
so last week was the soccer camp at our church which adrian was heading up. everything went really well thanks to all the volunteers we had. a special thanks to christine and robin and crystal who did much of the organizing and got a team of youth together to help out. we couldn't have done it without the many hours you put in, we love you guys!
so, the kids had lots of fun, and it was a week full of lots of activity which was exciting. but there was also lots of work that went into the week as well as adrian and I having to lift the subjects on our house to finalize our offer which was exhausting.
the first day it rained, but it eased up enough for the soccer drills to be done outside, and the rest of the week we had gorgeous weather which was a huge blessing.

joy
every day i get a smile on my face as i go to get my little boy out of bed, and he is lying there with a huge smile on his face just for me. some days i wonder how i was so lucky to have such a happy content little baby that sleeps so well, and then i remember my pregnancy and think that he is making up for that.
so landen is doing really well and is becoming more fun as the weeks go by. he is always full of giggles now and it is too cute! we have started putting him in his high chair to feed him his cereal. the chair is quite big for him, but he'll grow into it. unfortunately cereal is all he will eat right now. i have tried baby foods, but he either spits them out or actually throws up! uh oh, we have another picky eater in the family (i guess he takes after me in some ways). here is landen waiting for his food...

That first pic of Landen in his high chair is so cute:) I'm glad that the rest of soccer camp had nicer weather.
